Self Destructive Behavior usually comes from Abandonment issues

Abandonment issues are also Codependency Issues.

Those of us who have recurring behavior patterns were we agree to a course of action and it turns out later that we should have known better... at the time we didn't see our choice as having a negative side effect.

There are several extremely good books on codpendency recovery, for myself, being a Type A personality, I prefer Codependency Workbooks, especially those from renowned counselor Pia Melody

it's like describing a ship by the wake it leaves as it travels thru the water, and you can't see the ship, it's there all right, the evidence of just how big it really is is plain to see, the "xhip" itself is obscured.
